Scan App
Designed with: Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, Whimsical
Background
The idea for Scan App was conceived by observing how the clients I work with struggle to handle their mail and paper documents. Broadening my scope, I interviewed a handful of business owners to see what kind of issues they were experiencing.
Problem
I discovered that most business owners struggled with managing the influx of mail, paperwork, and documentation, specifically when tax season came around. This disorganization leads to reduced free time, increased stress, and inefficient business management.
Solution
Scan App aids users in the handling of paperwork and documentation to reduce stress and clutter, increase efficiency, and ultimately have more free time to spend doing what they love.
EMPATHIZE
Personas and Empathy Maps
User Journey
A user journey was created to understand the user's steps, actions, thoughts, and feelings, as well as to identify areas of opportunities for ScanApp to provide a refined and pleasant user experience.
DEFINE
An overabundance of paperwork and lack of proper organization leads to frustration and valuable time and energy loss.
Value Proposition
Scan App makes it radically easy to scan, save, and organize your documents so you can successfully manage your paperwork, leaving more free time and independence to do the things you love.

Goal Statement
Scan App will let users scan, store, share, and organize their documents which will affect productivity and general happiness by decreasing clutter and time spent keeping track of paperwork.
User Flow
A user flow was created to help understand the steps, proccesses, and potential pain points a user would experience while utilizing the app.
DESIGN
User Case Study
Several participants shared their opinions on the prototype during a "think out loud" remote usability study. Iterations were implemented based on the feedback received.
